ESG Manager

Company Overview:

Accsys is a fast-growing business with a purpose: Changing wood to change the world.
We combine chemistry, technology and ingenuity to make high performance wood products that are extremely durable and stable, opening new opportunities for the built environment. By doing so, we give the world a choice to build sustainably.

What we do
We transform fast-growing, certified sustainable wood into a building material with characteristics that match or better those of man-made, intensely resource-depleting and heavily carbon-polluting alternatives.

Our products
Accoya® and Tricoya® – not only compete on performance, but also benefit the circular economy, locking away carbon for years, and are sourced from completely sustainable forests.

Our technology
Our proprietary acetylation process boosts the already naturally occurring acetyl content of wood and by doing so, reduces the ability of the wood to absorb water, rendering it more dimensionally stable and, because it is no longer easily digestible, extremely durable.

Our impact
We are committed to a more sustainable world, and use abundantly available wood sources certified sustainable by the FSC® or other, similarly reputable and internationally-recognised organisations. Accsys’ products fit perfectly in the bio-cycle of the circular economy, with Accoya being Cradle to Cradle Certified™ at the Gold level and Platinum for Material Health.
We execute our strategy to fulfil our business potential in our markets, guided by our values and with our commitment to sustainability at heart.

About our business
Accsys’ operations touch many functions and industries – chemical technology, wood processing and modified wood production, constructing and operating acetylation plants, and, of course sales, marketing, support, distribution, and more. We have around 250 employees, products on every continent, and sell into many countries around the world. Our head office is in London, and we currently have one main Accoya® production site and office complex in Arnhem, NL, and we are in the process of building a new Tricoya® wood chip acetylation plant in Hull, UK. We are also working on developing further potential ventures and operations around the world.
