Senior HRBP

Reports to: Chief People Officer (who is based in London)

Our Accoya® wood manufacturing facility is in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and Accsys is also expanding in other locations. Our next plant will be at the Saltend site in Hull, UK, where the company is building and will soon be operating the world’s first Tricoya® production plant. Accsys also recently announced the formation of a joint venture with Eastman Chemical Company with the intention of building an Accoya® production facility in the USA.

Role Summary:  

To be the key point of contact for HR related issues for the production and to support the Chief People Officer and MD of Arnhem, participate in group wide projects.

This role will be based in Arnhem.

Direct Reports: N/A, shared admin support

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Work in partnership with global HR to influence and achieve strategic priorities including driving a strong change agenda
  2. Support managers on performance issues, ER, performance management and employee development through consultative support.
  3. Coordination of development initiatives in line with the company expansion plan and reporting performance management processes
  4. Provide OD and change management consultancy to the business
  5. Leading Diversity & Inclusion agenda
  6. Together with the Learning & Development Manager based in Lon#]don, manage training programmes
  7. Drive performance management if not in place already
  8. Takes full ownership of potential litigation cases within their remit, being supported by the local ER Specialist when required
  9. Assist in running the annual employee performance review process locally
  10. Take part in yearly compensation review and performance management review cycle – assist with collating manager feedback.
  11. Maintain the employee handbook, HR policies and associated documentation and ensure they meet legal requirements
  12. Manage HR system (Sage) – become a super-user of Sage and be able to help end users with any problems and also run reports for Managers and Finance
  13. Manage the employee’s life cycle related admin: maintain all personnel records online and offline, draft employment contracts, provide reporting as required
  14. Monitor level of absenteeism and work with management/ Company doctor on improvement actions
  15. Monthly payroll administration assistance – ensure that all joiner/leaver information is correctly passed through payroll.
  16. Assist with ad hoc projects as required, both local and global

Qualification / Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant HR qualification
  • Previous experience as a HR BP within a similar environment
  • Excellent working knowledge (to super-user level) of any HR system
  • Must have experience working within a production environment
  • Good understanding of shift patterns
  • Understanding of Hays (KornFerry) competency model is an advantage
  • Knowledge of local employment laws

  • Excellent command of English language
  • Good facilitation, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Be able to demonstrate personal flexibility and the capability to adapt to rapidly continuously evolving environment and changing priorities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good planning and organisation skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Must have the drive and enthusiasm to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative and provide solutions
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Must have a high level of personal organisational skills and self-motivation to operate both individually and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Must be comfortable to work across multiple tasks and to take on a variety of ad-hoc responsibilities as they come available.
