Market Development Manager – North America

We are looking for a Market Development Manager to join Accsys and help grow our presence, capabilities and sales in North America.

North America is a priority growth target for the company, and we recently announced the formation of a joint venture company with Eastman Chemical Company with the intent of building an Accoya® plant in the USA which would support a significantly expanded impact in the region.

We currently have a small but growing Sales team for North America, and primarily work with our network of local and national distributors to supply our sustainable wood products across the continent.  Part of our growth strategy is to develop our relationships with those distributors, improving our service model and capabilities, our support structure, formalized partnerships and expanding our product stock footprint.

The role will be home-based, ideally in the South East USA near our future facility location, and will require frequent travel within North America and occasionally further abroad.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1 Development of Distributor sales budgets by location in concert with company growth plans.
2 Supporting distributor growth with a focus on distributor product knowledge training, inventory management and marketing activity.
3 Working in concert with the Distribution base, current Technical Sales Managers and Inside Salespeople to enable growth objectives and the timely collection of orders.
4 Providing Distributor training relative to marketing initiatives and programs designed to enable rapid growth of the Accoya distributor footprint.
5 Sales development through prospecting and development of new end users for Accoya in key applications of decking, siding, windows and doors.
6 Working with colleagues to develop training and promotional tools and presentations
7 Specification sales development and execution through engagement with architects and engineers


Qualifications, Experience and Key Competencies:

1 Strong track record in Distributor development in the wood (or a related) industry.
2 Fluency in spoken and written English.  Capability in Spanish and French is of benefit.
3 Reliable, hardworking, and hands-on mentality. Driven, collaborative and innovative in work style to identify and solve problems, resolve issues and identify new tangible opportunities for growth.
4 Able to operate independently in carrying out an agreed plan which involves fostering engagement from market stake holders. For example: fostering engagement of a distributor and system partner in developing regular business with a manufacturer.
5 Proficient in Office 365, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with CRM is particularly advantageous.
6 A skilled team builder that uses positive influence to pull together company and customer assets in a way that enhances product volume and profit growth.
