Sales Manager – Southwest

We are looking for the next great sales leader to take command of our growing business in the Southwestern United States.  The Sales Manager will be instrumental in driving growth, engaging in the commercial and technical activities of our partners (Distributors, OEM’s and End Users) as well as establishing new opportunities in the regions.

This position is remote, located in the Southwestern regional territory of the U.S., near a major airport.

Essential Functions:

Customer and territory development

  • Effectively build strong customer relationships, promote Accsys’ current and future capabilities to prospects and customers, and assures Accoya gets specified for jobs and large project opportunities.
  • Develop regional sales plan to support the overall Marketing and Sales plan
  • Make customer presentations that demonstrate how Accsys, and its products/services provides superior customer value
  • Visits OEMs, spec developers, government agencies, end users, tradeshows, and conferences to obtain customer specific information on pricing, commercial terms, and expectations
  • Execute Commercial/Sales budget objectives and strategies and maximize value to the customer.
  • Identify, evaluate, and submit recommendations for customers growth plans
  • Participates in tradeshows exhibited by Accsys and/or their customers, primarily as a relationship builder
  • Create customer loyalty through excellent customer service, superior technical support, and industry leading product training/support
  • Provide and model exemplary customer service necessary to develop long-term relationships with customers
  • Helps to drive pricing, order quantities, and reduce unprofitable products to improve margins and profitability for Accsys.

Sales Pipeline Execution

  • Qualify and accelerate leads & inquiries into customer opportunities
  • Assure that customer’s expectations are clearly defined regarding performance, value added, schedule of deliverables, T&Cs, and payment schedules
  • Negotiate and accelerate the capture of opportunities
  • Complete KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) on activity set jointly.
  • Develop, track, and manage plans for high growth and high potential customer opportunities
  • Record and maintain client contact data utilizing CRM and trip reports

Other related duties as required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BS in Business, Marketing / related field or equivalent job experience; MBA is a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a national distributed sales environment, including leadership roles.
  • Strong track record in sales and technical team leadership of wood or construction industry related products.
  • Proven success to develop territories and representatives to profitably grow the business
  • Ability to work independently as a remote employee
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Able to build strong relationships with customers, employees, and management
  • Solid business acumen, management reporting, and problem solving
  • Demonstrated proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CRM
  • Expected travel is 50%-60% monthly (15+ days / month)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Perform work at both your home office, on airplanes, in hotels, and at customer’s offices. Office work is usually in a climate-controlled office environment. Time on any shop floor may be required, which can be noisy and dusty, as well as hot during the summer.

Sales and marketing support in Kingsport.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Office work involves standing and walking for brief periods, but most work is from a seated position. Travel work involves driving, flying, and walking with luggage. There is potential for eyestrain from reading detailed materials & computer screens. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods, travel and changing priorities may cause increased stress levels.
