Sales & Technical Support Manager 

Reports to: Head of Sales – APAC, BENELUX & Southern Europe

Location: Northern France or Lyon

The Group’s primary focus is on the production and sale of Accoya® solid wood and Tricoya® MDF wood elements technology. Our Accoya manufacturing facility is in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

We are looking for a sales and technical support manager for France.

This role will be home based in France with 50-70% travel required including key meetings at the Accoya plant in the Netherlands.


The key focus of the role is on sales growth in the French market. The sales & technical support manager will develop the commercial and technical activities of distributors and merchants on an operational level whilst supporting the sales growth for France. The role operates in alignment with the French sales manager. The aim is to support and develop sales with merchants, manufacturers and installers of our products and in conjunction trigger more product specification at architectural practices to develop sales and revenue growth for the group.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Sales support to distributors/merchants clients:

  • Achieving growth and sales targets by supporting distributors and merchant teams
  • Distributor joint key account visits developing Approved Manufacturers (AMP) and Approved Installers (AIP)
  • Autonomous AMP/AIP visits.
  • Identify growth market opportunities on existing and new segment applications
  • Competition and market analysis
  • Joint and autonomous architectural and industrial visits with distributors and merchants
  • Define new distributor entities or new sub-distributor network for existing distributors
  • Work closely with distributors/merchants on key projects
  • Direct communication with Accsys French marketing and Quality Control in EU
  • Regular reporting in CRM
  • Achieving KPI’s set jointly with head of sales

Technical Support:

  • Providing technical support to distributors and merchants and their accounts and outlets
  • Become an Approved Manufacturer Program Certifier for decking, cladding.
  • Train and validate AMP/AIP’s (OEMs and installers) – to develop sales
  • Build awareness of technical testing / eco labelling / certification in the region contributing to growing sales
  • Grow the System Supplier network with reputable suppliers/brands available (fixings, hardware, adhesives, sealants, coatings, etc…)
  • Optimise value enhancement with Accoya and new product applications
  • Direct communication with technical support team in EU/UK

Key attributes, competencies, and professional experience:

  • Strong track record in sales and technical support of speciality, high performance wood or building related products. Ideally in cladding, decking and joinery.
  • Track record in technical skills and understanding of the downstream applications of the product (cladding / decking / joinery).
  • Reliable, hardworking and hands on mentality. Driven, collaborative and innovative in work style to resolve issues arising and identify new, tangible opportunities for sales growth.
  • Able to operate independently in carrying out an agreed plan which involved fostering engagement from market stake holders; for instance, fostering engagement of a distributor, their client base and system partner in developing regular business with a manufacturer.
  • French and English language skills essential.
  • Proficient with Office 365, particularly Power Point and Excel.
  • Experienced CRM user, ideal.
