Sales of our sustainable, high-performance\nAccoya<sup>\u00ae <\/sup>and Tricoya<sup>\u00ae <\/sup>wood products bounced back rapidly as\nthe initial disruptions from lockdown measures eased, and as we adapted to better\nmanage these challenges. We have built on this with continued good progression in\nour profitability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhilst\nCOVID-19 continues to cause uncertainty more generally and there remains a consequent\nrisk of further disruption, the second half of the financial year has started\nwell without the disruption experienced during the first lockdown. Strong\ndemand has continued, with record sales levels in October whilst production is being\nmaintained at capacity levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cExecution of\nour strategic growth plans progressed well during the period as we work to\nexpand our production capacity to meet untapped global demand. Construction of the\nworld\u2019s first Tricoya<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> production plant, in Hull, UK, remains on\ntrack and has accelerated after the initial more severe lockdown. The erection\nof the acetylation tower structure was completed in October. Additionally, the\nproject to expand our Accoya<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> plant in the Netherlands remains on\nschedule. We also continue to make good progress in evaluating the construction\nof &nbsp;a facility in North America with\nEastman to serve this significant and growing market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSustainability\nsits at Accsys\u2019 core and we have today published our Sustainability Report, setting\nout our ESG strategy, framework and priorities aligned to our purpose: Changing\nwood to change the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur IP and processes ensure that our products benefit from strong competitive advantages and are aligned to the global shift in consciousness towards sustainability.
