Accoya has been featured in two standout projects recognised at the 2026 BDAA National Design Awards, celebrating excellence in building design across Australia. The awards highlighted projects demonstrating creativity, sustainability and thoughtful responses to place and context.
SOL Elements, designed by Design Artisan, received the prestigious National Design Excellence Award and also won the Commercial Buildings category. The Tamborine Mountain bathhouse in Queensland combines contemporary wellness design with its natural surroundings, with Accoya cladding charred on site contributing to the project’s distinctive material palette.
Meanwhile, Melbourne’s Wrighty Tighty Haus, designed by Envirotecture, won the Chris Reardon Memorial Award for Sustainable Buildings as well as the Passive House category. The Certified Passivhaus Plus home was designed with a strong focus on energy efficiency, durability and carefully considered materials. Accoya Color Grey, supplied by Britton Timbers, was used for the ground-floor cladding and exterior decking, providing a durable, low-maintenance timber finish.
The recognition of these two very different projects demonstrates the versatility of Accoya across contemporary Australian architecture, from a striking commercial wellness destination to a high-performance sustainable home.
Congratulations to Design Artisan, Envirotecture, Brittons Timber and everyone involved in bringing these award-winning projects to life.
