Accsys is proud to announce that the restoration of Tinside Lido in Plymouth, where Accoya wood played a key role, has been awarded Project of the Year at the 2026 Wood Protection Association (WPA) Awards.
The £4.5 million restoration has transformed the much-loved coastal landmark, carefully balancing its historic character with the performance needed for a demanding marine environment. Accoya wood was used throughout the project for doors, windows, decking and outdoor structures, helping to bring the space back to life while ensuring it will stand the test of time.
Justin Peckham, Head of Sales at Accsys, said, “We’re delighted to see the restoration of Tinside Lido recognised with this award from WPA. It shows what’s possible when you combine great design with the right materials. Accoya was chosen to handle the tough coastal conditions, but also to respect the character of the site and the end result really speaks for itself. We’re thrilled to have played a part in bringing it back for the community to enjoy.”
The award was presented at the WPA Awards ceremony on 6 May 2026 at Oulton Hall Hotel in Leeds, celebrating the very best in wood protection and performance across the industry.
