Job Purpose
Reporting to the Group Head of Infrastructure and Security, the IT Desktop Support Engineer will be a member of the Accsys IT Team providing cross functional desktop support primarily in Arnhem NL but also to all Accsys sites in the UK, EU and US.
The engineer will be responsible for providing high quality business focussed desktop support for all users with a strong ability to interpret end user requirements and escalate if required. This position provides exposure to a broad range of business and Industrial IT related technologies, projects, and activities.
Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability
- Be a subject matter expert for corporate IT infrastructure and security
- Provide technical input and support to projects and deployments
- Maintain the IT infrastructure to the agreed standard and drive continuous improvement
- Create and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide training documentation and training to colleagues
- Work with external IT service providers to deliver desktop support
- Provide local ‘remote hands’ support for internal IT teams and managed service providers
- Ensure IT security and governance policies applied and adhered to
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues to ensure they can take better advantage of IT tools and services, giving them greater independence and transferable skills
- Assist with systems administration where necessary or appropriate
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Well organised, able to prioritise and work in a distributed team
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite administration & deployment
- Excellent application fault finding and analysis
- Application support for iOS and Android devices
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Understanding of Microsoft M365 tools (eg PowerAutomate)
- Understanding of Microsoft Endpoint Manager for deploying and maintain apps
- Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- Experience working with MSP’s and external suppliers
- Flexible and open to change
- Experience of ITIL, change, service, patch and incident management
- Able to work to tight timescales and deal with users who have differing priorities
Key Skills
- Applications support for Windows platforms, IoS and Android mobile
- Understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems
- Understanding of Networking & Firewalls
- Active Directory & Azure AD
- Windows Desktop Operating Systems Support
- MDM platforms managing EUC and mobile devices preferably Endpoint Manager
- Microsoft M365
- Teams
- Outlook
- SharePoint etc.
- Good to have:
- IP telephony
- Hardware and end user compute support (Laptop/desktop) and troubleshooting
- Experience of SAP BusinessOne, Dynamics 365 and Ultimo ERP
- Data Analytics/Warehouse and Business Intelligence platforms
- Qualifications & Experience
- At least 3 years of comparable experience ideally in a manufacturing or industrial organisation
- Microsoft Certifications

Duration: Permanent
Location: Arnhem
Travel: A requirement to attend other Accsys sites may be required although this would be on a rare and ad-hoc basis. The ability to attend our sites in the UK (London, Barry) and the US (Kingsport) is not mandatory.
