Technical Sales Manager 

Reports to: Head of Sales Southern Europe

Location: Northern France or Lyon

We are looking for a technical sales manager for France. The Technical Sales Manager will be instrumental in driving growth, engaging in the commercial and technical activities of our partners (Distributors, OEM’s and End Users) as well as supporting new opportunities in the French region.

This role will be home based in France with ~60% – travel required within the territory including key meetings in wider European countries at the Accsys plants in the Netherlands and UK.

Focus:

The key focus of the role is on giving technical support in the French market. The role may also be required to help sales in adjacent regions (Southern European countries). The technical sales manager will support and develop sales with merchants, manufacturers and installers of our products and in conjunction trigger more product specifications at architectural practices to develop sales growth.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The Technical Sales Manager is expected to operate in a structured manner, work independently to support the business and align closely with their manager for key decisions.

We are looking for a proactive candidate with initiative and a growth mentality. We encourage applicants who are seeking to develop their expertise and career and support this with training.

Sales support to distributors/key accounts:

  • Identification of new account opportunities for our distributors
  • Architectural and industrial visits both independently and jointly with distributor and indirect customer sales teams
  • Ongoing training and empowerment of distributors sales teams.
  • Identify and execute growth in new segments / applications
  • Direct communication channel with Accsys colleagues in Marketing, Operational Sales and Quality Control
  • Regular reporting in CRM
  • KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) on activity set jointly with Line Manager

Technical Support:

  • Providing technical support to distributors and merchants and their accounts and outlets
  • Become an Approved Manufacturer Program Certifier for joinery, cladding, decking manufacturers
  • Build awareness of technical testing / eco labelling / certification in the region contributing to growing sales
  • Grow the System Supplier network with reputable suppliers/brands available (fixings, hardware, adhesives, sealants, coatings, etc.)
  • Optimize value enhancement with Accoya and new product applications
  • Direct collaboration and communication with Accsys technical support teams in EU/UK/USA

Key attributes, competencies, and skills:

  • Driven, collaborative and innovative in work style to resolve issues arising and identify new, tangible opportunities for sales growth.
  • A strong track record in technical support of specialty, high performance wood or building related products. Ideally in cladding, decking and joinery.
  • Track record in technical skills and understanding of the downstream applications of the product (cladding / decking / joinery).
  • Able to operate independently in carrying out an agreed plan which involved fostering engagement from market stake holders; for instance, fostering engagement of a distributor, their client base and system partner in developing regular business with a manufacturer.
  • Proficient with Office 365, particularly Power Point and Excel.
  • French and English language skills essential.
  • Proficient in Italian would be a plus.

Practical Details:

  • Home based Lyon, France (or other location if practical and only by joint agreement)
  • Annual contract with the prospect of permanent
  • Frequent travel to be expected: ~60%. Inclusive of visits to Accsys facilities with customer groups.
  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonus (SIP)
