Accsys is committed to conducting business sustainably, with integrity and openness, and to being ethically, environmentally and socially responsible. In addition to producing sustainable products, we aim to conduct our business in a way that supports and promotes good environmental, social and corporate responsibility. Suppliers are required to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct which is continuously reviewed.

Guidelines are set to ensure all purchases are environmentally and socially responsible, and suppliers are treated fairly.

As a business with Cradle to Cradle (‘C2C’) certification, priority is given to products and services which have also achieved a high level of C2C accreditation and/or use such products or have achieved other recognised eco-labels.

Sourcing and Relationship Management

Developing long term relationships is key to Accsys.  Along with our customers and other stakeholders, suppliers are the lifeblood of Accsys and we strive to work together and collaborate for mutual benefit. As part of this, training is provided for our wood buyers.

As an innovative and growing company, Accsys also needs to be aware of new developments and welcomes new suppliers who are willing to work together with Accsys for long-term mutual benefit.  All new suppliers need to follow a qualification process.

When considering our purchasing strategy, decisions are taken based on overall best value and with consideration of total, lifetime cost of ownership.   This takes into consideration, purchase price and on-going maintenance, spares, consumables, operating costs and disposal costs.   The environmental and social cost is considered in addition to the financial impact.

The relationship is also taken into consideration, supplier responsiveness, supportiveness, flexibility as well as the quality of the goods and services, adherence to health and safety principles and an ethically sound supply chain.

Accsys will work with its key suppliers to drive continuous improvement.  Supplier evaluation and review meetings will support this process and feedback should be 2-way to drive all round improvements and facilitate working together.

Suppliers

If you are interested in becoming a supplier for Accsys, please contact us.

We expect and require our suppliers to demonstrate high standards in their operations with regards to safety, health and environment. Selected suppliers are required to demonstrate ethical and legal behaviour, sustainability, robust health and safety procedures and business continuity planning through their own operations and supply chain.

Local and multinational suppliers who have a sound ethos and are aligned with Accsys’ values have the opportunity to work together with us and support us in our vision.

Developing long term relationships is key to Accsys.  Along with our customers and other stakeholders, suppliers are the lifeblood of Accsys and we strive to work together and collaborate for mutual benefit. All of our wood suppliers are FSC-certified and undergo regular checks. As part of this training is an obligation throughout the whole supply chain.

Accsys intends to do business on the basis of its terms and conditions.  Where business is of a strategically critical nature, specific capital equipment terms or frameworks agreements will be put in place.

Our C2C certification recognises the continuous improvement that goes in to our products and how they are made. Procurement works alongside the other functions within Accsys to retain this certification, which involves continually evaluating and refining our various processes. The upkeep requires an abundance of innovation and initiative; this hard work is rewarded by relieving some of the potential damage to the environment.

Accsys’ suppliers also form an important part of this.

We are committed to a policy of minimising any negative social and environmental impact that may flow from our activities and expect the same high standards from our business partners.

We obtain timber from certified sustainable forest resources. Our suppliers must meet the strict environmental and social requirements of this certification as well as rigid chain of custody criteria set out by either the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) or other similarly reputable and internationally recognised certification schemes. In addition, we will remain compliant with the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR & UKTR) and new EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements.

We expect the suppliers of our other key raw materials to comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct or to have confirmed their support for the principles of the UN Global Compact, which is committed to ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Suppliers without a Supplier Code or Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be asked if they comply with the Accsys’ Modern Slavery and Human Rights Statement.
